I don't get it.

And Bush II was brave because he sent troops anywhere and everywhere, pell mell, without giving much thought to a plan? Oh, and let's not forget Bush's brave service in the TX National Guard during Viet Nam.

And let's not forget Cheney's 5 deferments during Nam. Very brave!

I know, Obama didn't serve, but at least he's a bit pensive before ordering more troops (lives) being sent to fight a war that should have been started in the first place.

Deficits, unemployment, economic disaster . . . all Bush's fault. Withdrawal of troops from Iraq and a surge in Afghanastan . . . great Obama successes. Ironic.

We wouldn't have what we have in this country if the peace culture had more power than it currently has. Many of the current problems in our country can be traced back to the hippie days imo.

Realism, not idealism.

I believe Obama has long since passed Carter as the worst modern era president. What say you? Did any of you believe that he would be this dumb and ignorant of world politics as well as domestic policy? I seriously didn't think he would be this bad.

Foreign Policy: Apologize for everything American. Speak softly and carry nothing. Smile. Bow.
Domestic Policy: Print more money. Get more people on the government teat. Take from the productive and give to the non-productive.
Both: Recycled teleprompter speeches. Yawn.

President Obama, you are no longer in college.
Idealistic principles do not work so well in the real world.

Imagine

Postby D. Dayling » Wed Mar 10, 2010 3:36 pm

I found the song which goes along with Obama's foot print. I genuinely enjoy the song and while listening it to work this morning it all came together. I believe this song is a guideline for Obama's policies! Read them and let me know what you think.

Imagine There's No Country
It Isn't Hard To Do
Nothing To Kill Or Die For
And No Religion Too

Imagine All The People
Living Life In Peace(yoouuu)
You May Say I'm A Dreamer

But I'm Not The Only One
I Hope Someday You Will Join Us
In The World We'll Live As One

Imagine No Possession
I Wonder If You Can
No Need For Greed Or Hunger
A Brotherhood Of Man

Imagine All The People
Sharing For The World(Youuuu)

You May Say I'm A Dreamer
But I'm Not The Only One
I Hope Someday You Will Join Us
In The World We'll Live As One

Almost 2 years until our first John Lennon reference! Not bad. Yeah, imagine all right.

It is kind of like Star Trek. In the future there will be no money - which translates in their world to mean no wealth and no poverty. Everyone works the job of their choice, therefore, no problem with attendence. Not sure who cleans the toilets in our ideal future. The estimate I read is, since the war on poverty began in 1964, we have transferred over $7 trillion dollars to the poor from the upper tax brackets. Working out pretty good so far!

Merle Haggard, 1981

Wish a buck was still silver.
It was, back when the country was strong.
Back before Elvis; before the Vietnam war came along.
Before The Beatles and "Yesterday",
When a man could still work, and still would.
Is the best of the free life behind us now?
Are the good times really over for good?
Are we rolling down hill like a snowball headed for hell?
With no kind of chance for the Flag or the Liberty bell.
Wish a Ford and a Chevy,
Could still last ten years, like they should.
Is the best of the free life behind us now?
Are the good times really over for good?

I believe this wealth transfer has had phenomenal results for the poor in our society.

/sarcasm

If I'm not mistaken, the poverty level hasn't changed much over that time period. One thing to keep in mind though is that the kooks constantly change the definition of poverty, etc.
